PRESS RELEASE
ROSEMARY CHILESHE, THIS YEAR'S ZAMBIAN ENVOY TO THE PRESTIGIOUS MISS UNIVERSE 2007 BEAUTY PAGEANT.

Rosemary Chileshe, is this year's Zambian envoy to the prestigious Miss Universe 2007 Beauty Pageant, which will be held in Mexico City, 28th May 2007.

But the story of this young Zambia star actually begins from a beauty queen to fashion Icon. Since she hit the catwalk in the UK in early 2000 it didn't take time for her to get signed.

Soon after winning Miss Zambia UK 2003, Rosemary was sought by many agencies and designers alike, there onwards Rosemary began to take on the catwalk gracing several shows in London, Manchester and around the UK including the young designer awards with whom she's still affiliated.

As one of the hottest new faces on the scene, Rosemary is courted by top fashion designers both established and upcoming for their international runway shows. Having worked with her, Carl Ellis of Mother Africa says, 'Her distinctive looks are so different from the usual catwalk and her presence working on a project has earned her critical acclaim amongst her peers'. In 2005/2006 Rosemary became the Face of Sleek Cosmetics and also graced the covers of MIMI Magazine, making her the first ever Zambian to have that privilege following in the footsteps of the renowned supermodel, IMAN.

This year she moves from strength to strength, as it's yet to be a big year for the young star from the Northern Province. She's tipped to take on the world at large 'Literally'. She'll be flying the flag at this year's Miss Universe in Mexico City and then she's working with International (Zambian born) designer, Carl Ellis where she models his new collection for fashion label 'Mother Africa' (a signature of all cultures African) to be launched onto the international market before the end of 2007.

However outside her modelling commitments, she continues to utilise her influence as a goodwill ambassador with a solid foundation to help the fight against HIV/AIDS and poverty worldwide, with particular attention to Zambia.

She is now a Co - Founder (jointly with Carl Ellis) for The R.O.C Foundation (Aimed at raising HIV/AIDS Awareness). With the R.O.C's media campaign under way, her drive is evident when working for the good of others through charity earning her the GAB Award (Gathering of Africa's Best) in recognition of her outstanding work with HIV/AIDS orphans, making her the second person after Nelson Mandela to have received this prestigious Award in the Southern African region.
She also addressed an international audience at a Commonwealth Forum to commemorate World Aids Day 2006.

Rosemary's official wardrobe for her participation at Miss Universe will be provided by Carl Ellis who is now the official fashion designer and National Director for Miss Universe Zambia 2007.
No one could have asked for a more internationally accomplished Zambian model and that is why this year she needs all the support from Zambia to fly the flag in Mexico City on the 28th.

'Such an accomplished beauty queen, Rosemary Chileshe will certainly represent the country and fly the Zambian flag with grace, dignity, integrity and a lot of promise at Miss Universe 2007', says mentor Justina Mutale, (organiser of Miss Zambia UK).

'She is the young bright future and a promise for the country', says Carl Ellis.

'I 'am very proud of Rosemary's work, which presents good work of young Zambians. It makes us feels good about ourselves in a globalised family of wide citizenship, says Mr A Chibwa (High Commissioner to Zambia in London)
